Murder Mystery, Old Carpet

Went to some house in the middle of some rural countryside. Apparently it was the house of a deceased woman who was the subject of a murder mystery show my partner and my mom were watching. Her only neighbor was her fancy boyfriend. We met him out on the side of the road, and after greetings I said "he killed her." Then I don't remember who said what, but I said to him "haha nah jk you seem fine, I'm just being a person watching a TV show." We went to her house and it still looked lived in. He had some stuff out on the floor in the living room, I think it was like clothes and suitcases and bunch of money strewn about lol. He said he was gonna leave us to have a look around, and someone joked "yeah leave us with all your money!" Then he left. We began looking around, the house was the Old Stomping Grounds. My mom and I walked back into her bedroom, through her bathroom and into her closet. Things looked kinda similar, but I realized the stuff was different and organized a bit differently. I asked my mom "can you believe we're back here? How does it feel? So cool that the new family was able to organize this for us to come back here!" Then I realized the carpet was still there and I gasped and was like "OMG the carpet!! There's still a chance!" I was super stoked to go check under the stairs and see if there was still any old unused carpet we could take to make a rug out of.
