Long time no see

I was in the middle of a city somewhere in the world. I was with my best friend, Christian. We were busy observing the interrogation of a man who was caught cheating on his wife and catfishing women. He did all of this while his wife was asleep. We eventially got bored of this and left. Because we were located at the bottom of a steep hill, we had quite the climb ahead of us. Christian and I headed back up and on the way up we passed my cousin, Udo, and his girlfriend, Amelia. He had semi-long hair tucked away hunder a headband, a signature look of his. He was also wearing jeans and a black t-shirt. I found that strange as I was wearing winter clothing meant for snowy days. As we passed each other he lifted his iced coffee in a can as if to say cheers and Amelia gave the two of us a friendly, almost excited, wave. After prolonged eye contact and a joyous distant greeting, we all turned away and headed our separate ways. Mere moments later, my eyes became watery and a chill went through my body as I realized that my cousin was actually there. Without saying a word, I immediately turned around and ran as fast as I could to catch up to them. I had so many questions for him and I could not believe he was there. I ran past the point where they were when I saw them but they were nowhere in sight. My eyes darted as they tried to locate the two of them on the horizon, but they were not there, so I decided to turn around again. As I turned, I saw Amelia sitting on the sidewalk, alone, and she was upset. It was at that moment I started feeling deep sorrow. Christian and I went to sit down with her and comfort her a little bit. I had one hand on her knee and tried to hold eye contact with her. In a way I was trying to fish answers out of her without asking anything. A moment into this interaction, Udo suddenly appeared next to me. He was also seated and looked exactly like when we saw each other. I broke down in tears and grabbed onto him. I could feel my heart fill with so many conflicting emotions, but the strongest one was sorrow. I had so many questions to ask him, but it seemed as if he knew that when he started speaking. As I was thinking them, he answered them. He told me he is feeling really good and that he is happy. There is nothing that can stop him now. He also told me that he... An alert on my cellphone woke me up. I am never forgetting it on loud again.
