Long wait at the doctor's office

I had a doctor's appointment for 1:00. I waited until 3:30 and by then I was furious. I started yelling at the receptionist and a nurse. The receptionist explained that they set appointments by telling five people to arrive at one, then the next five to arrive at three, and so on. She claimed this is how all doctor's offices do things. I told her that was bullshit. Then I turned to the other waiting patients and told them all very loudly that none of them actually had an appointment and they should take the matter up with the receptionist. Then I flounced out the door. I felt guilty because I knew the receptionist was about to have a dozen angry people to deal with, but I remembered how snooty she had been to me and I felt slightly better.
