I’m undergoing a background check at work and my employers find out some of the apps I use on my phone have been tracking my location. A woman (with HR I think) begins communicating with me about what’s been discovered. The communications are somewhat accusatory and it seems like I am being chastised. I encounter a pretty girl in a parking lot and we strike up a conversation about an app I’ve been using. The app is like a video game shooter, but the people playing it are somehow transported to different locations in the real world where they shoot each other with virtual guns for fun and points. Suddenly the app we’ve been discussing decides to locate a bunch of players near my location and we all start shooting each other with fake guns. I think this is taking place in the parking lot where I work and it occurs to me that this will probably be a problem for my employer. At some point I show the girl in the parking lot a bunch of small, thin, rectangular pieces of metal that are linked together at one end (such that you can fan them out like a deck of cards in your hand). I think the metal pieces are some sort of token related to the app game. Each metal piece is a different color and has some sort of clever little phrase written on it. The girl seems amused/impressed with my metal tokens which makes me feel pretty good. (BTW, I remember the girl was pretty, she might have looked like a girl I had a crush on in college, idk). The girl starts talking about some cool features for the app game and it suddenly occurs to me that she’s really some sort of paid promoter for the app. I’m really bummed because i realize that the only reason she’s talking to me is because she’s trying to promote the app or sell me something.
