There was an advertisement wanting people to travel to Mars for an experimental expedition. I told my mom that I was going to apply. I went to wherever it was the ad said to go. There were spaceships. I climbed on board. My old highschool friends Lark and LeRoy were there. We all climbed aboard the same ship; laughing together as we climbed up the ladder to get to the entrance. Inside, it was cramped. There were thin mats thrown all along the floor where we were to sleep. The ship was mainly our sleeping area, except for maybe a quarter of the ship, which had square, cheap-looking, brown tables atop the bright-white tile floor (so I assumed our eating area). They had us all lay down to make sure there was room for us all. I realized, "Darn it! I didn't know I needed to bring my own blanket!" I was wondering if maybe I could share with someone since we were so close together anyway. But seeing as how cold it was, I didn't think I wd be able to. I wasn't happy about that, but there didn't seem like I could do much about it now. I wondered how long we would be gone. How many years before I could see my family again. I wondered when my mom would realize I had gotten accepted for this expedition and went to Mars. We hadn't been able to speak to anyone, to ask even the most basic of questions. They basically just grabbed some of us that had shown up via the ad and started pushing us up the ladders (there were multiple spaceships, all long and thin, green with red fin-type things on the sides, and a round glass opening towards the top of the center...) Then suddenly I remembered, "MY MEDICATION!" I ran to an officer on the ship and told her about my medication and asked if they would provide it for me. She said they couldn't do that. I freaked out, telling her how terribly sick I would get without it, and how I could die. If they allowed it, I would have to get off the ship. I hated to miss out on this opportunity, but I HAD to have my medication. I saw a young mother to my right. She had a baby just a few months old in a lacy black lay-down stroller. I thought to myself, "What an amazing opportunity for both of them! A young, new mom, taking her new baby to Mars! What a life this girl will have! What a life this baby will have!" The officer interrupted my thoughts and said, "well, just go to your doctor, get the paperwork for us and then we can provide you your medication. We're not leaving for another month!" I was so relieved! I honestly thought we were leaving that very night! So now I could get a blanket for the trip, make sure my medication was in order, and let my family know I will *definitely* be leaving, and when!
