Runaway Marriage

The night before my wedding, I picked up a lasagna from a deli to feed my wedding party that night. When they handed it to me, it was cold and burnt. The deli-woman apologized and offered to make me a new one, so I waited a half hour while they put a new one in the oven for me. When it was done and this one handed to me, it looked soggy and gross, but I didn't have time to wait for a third one, so I just took it. Once home, I cut the lasagna into slices for everyone. But as I cut, I kept hitting hard spots. One spot was an orange lighter! An orange lighter had fallen into the lasagna before they cooked it! Then I found a black lighter... and later on, a neon yellow lighter. Worst of all, though, was my wedding ring! The ring that was supposed to be put on my finger tmrw was somehow at the bottom of a cooked lasagna! This whole thing was unbelievable! There had been a note included with the lasagna from the owner. I grabbed it. He had written something along the lines of he was going to sue me for cheating them out of a second lasagna (since the first one they had to throw away, so they lost money bc I didn't pay for the remade lasagna ), but him being a nice guy and all, and it being the night before my wedding, he did at least want to know if we had enjoyed the lasagna and our visit there. I grabbed a pen immediately began penning my response. I was very polite, but I was also truthful. I let him know that his deli was unacceptable! I shouldn't find even ONE lighter in the food for my wedding party, let alone multiple lighters! And to find my diamond ring??! What if it had simply been swallowed?! And those items were the things I actually *remember* finding! I know there was more, I just can't quite recall exactly what else there was. The next day I got ready for my wedding and went to the wedding venue.. When I got there, there was another couple getting married that I had to wait to finish. The wedding venue looked like a large theatre. Instead of theatre seats, it had normal seats, and there was a long clear aisle in the middle covered in a long red carpet for the wedding party to walk down to the stage area where the officiant awaits to wed them. While the first wedding party did their thing, I waited in the back room (which was really just the first litttle section when you go to the movie theatre, you know when you enter your movie but its just the first set of doors to your movie, then you have to go through another set so that the lights from the outside in the main theatre area don't disturb the movie-goers ) so yeah, I was in that first set of doors. When the first couple finished getting married, they had to walk out through the little area I was waiting in (my groom was waiting behind the stage area to take his place on the stage and wait for me to arrive as i walked down to the aisle to take his hand). Tommy, my "one that got away", was the groom that had just got married! When he walked into that little waiting area to leave, and saw me standing there in my long off-white antique dress holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers, he and I just stood there, mouths hanging open, staring at one another, as if we were now suddenly only other people there. Finally, he says to me, "wow! You look beautiful!" I still couldn't say anything as I was still in shock at seeing him. My bridesmaid behind me began to push me out onto the aisle. I turned to stare at Tommy as she pushed me down the aisle. Tommy followed, behind the wedding party, trying to grab onto my hand as I was pushed toward another man. The crowd, a combination of his wedding guests and mine, just sat in their seats and watched. His bride, Amelia, ran to him, but he just pushed her aside. He knew he had made a mistake, and I was about to make my own. I was pushed up the stairs to my groom, which I think was Al. I went into Al's arms, but my eyes were still on Tommy. I couldn't just leave Al all alone, I couldn't desert him at our wedding, but I also couldn't live without Tommy. If I married Al, was there any way I could meet Tommy on the side? Of course not, how would I sneak out during my honeymoon to have an affair with my one true love?! How did I get into this mess??! How did I ruin my life so drastically that I'm now standing at the altar choosing between two men -- one, the perfect man that I've always loved and never wanted to live without, and the other, a broken man that can't live without me... I already know the choice I'm going to make. The choice I HAVE to make... 💔
