The One With the Target Surprise Party

I’m with what’s supposed to be the cast and crew for Lord of the Rings. We’re in what looks like a massive Target getting ready to surprise Viggo Mortensen for his birthday. Hundreds of us crouch down toward the back of the store as a few women walk by looking directly at us. We hold fingers to our lips to keep them from giving us away. I think about how if I turned the corner in a store and saw a bunch of people hiding like this, I’d probably scream. Finally, Viggo approaches — dressed in a Robin costume — and we get ready to jump up, but he walks at such an angle that he doesn’t face ever us. Unsure of what to do, several of us get to our feet, wave our arms, and awkwardly call, “Vi-ggo!” He turns, looks confused, and then approaches us bashfully. I think about how much we all love him.
