Alicia (a good friend of mine— we’re both 16 years old) was getting married in my church. I don’t know who the groom was, I never saw him. I was sitting with Kayleigh, another friend of mine, in the back of the church. We were the only people there, so we were probably pretty early for the wedding. There was a Mass going on upstairs and we could hear organ music coming from there (even though the only organ in the church is downstairs). Suddenly the person next to me was Alicia, and she asked me how much longer mass would be, because her wedding was going to be right after. I heard the music of what I somehow knew was the last song, and told her so. Then I was with Kayleigh again and Alicia was at the front of the church. She was wearing a shapeless knee-length white dress that almost looked like it was made out of a bedsheet. It had short, slightly-puffy sleeves and a drawstring at the neck, but it wasn’t tied. The priest (who I didn’t recognize) was trying to show her how to walk, but she couldn’t get it. She always went too fast or dragged her feet. Kayleigh remarked that we should have been bridesmaids but the wedding had been organized too quickly for that. Suddenly the church was flipped around— the front of the church was at the back, and vice versa. My mom and I were walking down the aisle towards the place that was now the front. Alicia was sitting in the front pew, surrounded by relatives who looked like they were mad at her, so I decided not to go up and sit with her. My mom found a cushion that said “reserved for East Coast islanders” (I think it relates to a previous part of the dream that I don’t remember) and she sat down there. I sat next to her. Either I thought or she said something to the effect that since Alicia was getting married today and Kayleigh was planning to get married soon, I would be the only single one by the time we graduated. I considered their respective current boyfriends and thought that they were both making mistakes in marrying so young.
