Drowned

A person who was my brother and/or dad picked up me and my psychiatrist in a jeep. Psych met brodad and gave him a hug, then we both climbed into the back which was basically just like a futon-esque loungey situation. We headed down to the beach. When we got there, my psych casually mentioned he had to look for his nephew while we were here because he was missing. We hopped out of the beach, and psych strolled right up to the ocean and dove in. I was like wow just starting with the ocean eh? Then I saw a blurry figure through the water that looked disturbingly humanesque. My psych popped back up and I yelled "what about that?!" and pointed at the figure, but psych didn't seem to be able to find what I was talking about. I realized that if it was a person and if they had any chance of survival, they needed to get out of the water ASAP, so I dove in and swam toward the figure. As I got close I saw that it definitely was a kid, I scooped him up in my arms and felt his weight as I swam to the top. I lifted him above the water and made sounds. I felt rather numb but also like I was short circuiting. It was obvious that this kid was dead as fuck. I put him on the beach and just started crawling and weakly hyperventilating. I should have tried CPR or seen if anyone else felt they could. In real life I probably would have been even more freaked out, but hopefully the clarity of imperative would take over for at least as long as it would need to.
